The customers application included metering free flowing Spherical beads in a process at a variable rate. Due to the size and shape of the process vessel above the rotary valve, a large rectangular flange connection is needed. The beads are 1/8” diameter and weigh 125 lbs. per cu. ft. The operating temperature is 1000° F.
Young Industries was asked to develop a system that would solve the problems with handling multiple powders for loading mixers. To complicate matters, the system must be portable and be able to handle 24 different powders from bulk bags weighing up to 2000 lbs.
We recently manufactured a 304S/S Ribbon Mixer with 75 cu. ft. mixing capacity. The mixer is designed to mix ingredients for glue. The Mixer includes several features that make it unique to the application.
Young Industries maintains a variety of Transvair Aero-Mechanical Conveyors at our test facility in Muncy PA. For the convenience of our customers and those occasions when we cannot test at our facility, Young Industries offers Conveyors for “On-Site” testing.
